Lis White

Lis has been teaching Yoga since 2008 when she completed her first teacher training in India. This journey ignited her love of travel, adventure, connection and learning. Over the years of practicing and studying many aspects of Yoga and other movement practices, she has experienced the profound effect it can have on the mental, spiritual and emotional self. When she’s not teaching you’ll find her hanging out with her friends and family absorbed in a podcast or book, cycling, in the ocean or bush and walking her dog.

Maria Grima

A sea change in 2020 saw Maria move to Wollongong from Goulburn, where she was running her own Pilates mat, studio equipment and reformer studio. Maria brings to Gather her belief in the benefits of mindful movement filtering into every aspect of our everyday life. It is mindful movement - always starting with the breath - which allows our mind to connect with our body to move with intention and purpose.

Since gaining a Certificate in Pilates Matwork in 2016, quickly followed by a Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction through PilatesITC, Maria’s thirst for knowledge has never abated, and has resulted in a Buff Bones® certification and a specialisation in women’s health.

In 2019 Maria formalised her interest in women’s health with a certification in Pre/Post Natal and Diastasis Recti Recovery therapy, giving her the tools to provide more specific and beneficial teaching to clients going through the pre/post natal stage.

Most recently, Maria completed training to become a certified Pilates/Health and Exercise for Menopause Specialist through The Center of Women’s Fitness, giving her the knowledge of specific pilates and movement to help empower women during this stage and beyond.

Kate Kilby

Kate is an Easty local and has been teaching out of her home studio for many years, and now brings her “restorative with an edge” practice to Gather, giving students a chance to slow down, rest and open their bodies.

Kate’s personal practice initially focused on the physical benefits of yoga - predominantly stretching and movement after running or gym sessions. It wasn’t until after 20 years in the NSW Police, and a diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Injury, did Kate’s practice go deeper, supporting mental health and trauma recovery.

In 2018 she completed Foundational Teacher Training with Ray of Light Yoga in Bulli - along with her co-teacher (and service dog), Gidget! In 2023 they completed Restorative Yoga Teacher Training with Sukha Mukha Yoga in Bondi, followed by an IRest Meditation certification.
